University of Chester Welcomes Employers for Annual Part-Time Jobs Fair

Regional and local employers reconnected with University of Chester students at the institution's annual Part-time Jobs Fair, held at the Exton Park campus during Welcome Week to promote part-time and seasonal opportunities alongside their studies.

With thousands of students studying at the University, many are keen to earn while they learn, gaining valuable workplace experience while supporting their living costs. The Fair provided employers with direct access to a large pool of motivated students actively seeking flexible employment that complements their academic commitments.

As part of the University’s Careers and Employability service, the Employer Engagement Team continues to support both students and employers through its Earn While You Learn initiative, helping organisations recruit talented student staff while enabling students to develop valuable workplace skills and experience.

The event also provided employers with an opportunity to raise awareness of their organisations on campus, build future talent pipelines and learn more about wider engagement opportunities available through the University.

One employer who attended said:

“The day has been very successful for us; we had a lot of interest from the students.”

One of the students who attended said:

“There were lots of stalls with a variety of roles,” while another added: “I got a lot of exposure to various jobs which was helpful.”

Sally Harding, Employer Engagement and Work Placement Manager, said:

“The Part-time Jobs Fair provides an excellent opportunity for employers to engage directly with a highly motivated student audience. Part-time work plays a vital role in helping students develop valuable employability skills while supporting local organisations with their recruitment needs.

“Events such as these help students gain meaningful work experience alongside their studies and enable employers to access talented individuals who can make a valuable contribution to their organisations.”

Employers seeking further information about the work of the Employer Engagement Team, and the services and initiatives that they can get involved with at the University of Chester, should contact them by emailing employers@chester.ac.uk.
